What /llms.txt is, and why the address matters
/llms.txt is a plain text file at the root of a website that exists for one purpose: telling an AI assistant what a business is, in the business’s own words. When someone asks ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini for antique dealers in New York City, the assistant does not read a website the way a person does. It looks for the short, structured answer first.

What we did not check, and what we withdrew
